…for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.
Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting

Oh that waiting... such a difficult and blessed time. Best wishes to you on your upcoming birth!
Go run around the block or something! Can't wait. Maybe you can, but I can't. And, you can't miss all these days in a row b/c then I'm over here thinking, this must be it! She must be having the baby! And then you come back and I get all disappointed; not that I don't love you, but I'm sorta focused on the new one, so later for you:)!
Oh waiting is the worst. Best of luck with the birth and new days of mothering three. I can't wait to hear all about it!!
perfect quote. So funny, we read this to Ayden almost every night. Oh the places you will go...
has that babe decided to join the outside world yet? (my first was two weeks "late", my second was three weeks "late", my third was early!)
thinking of you!
yes! It's something I really have to work at - not waiting. But using the moment as it has arrived. And enjoying it. I'm getting there but gee, I think we have been hard wired by our society to blindly accept a lot of waiting.
oops - I didn't read the last line - 40 weeks and waiting. That's a very good kind of waiting :-) And I hope you're no longer waiting but enjoying a beautiful baby :-)
