Yarn Along: 24 August

Joining Ginny again this week...

Is the weather cooling where you are?  It is here.  I have actually opened the knitting bag containing my hub's sweater to peek in.  No knitting yet, but it is coming...  The cowl though is filling out quite well and I just might meet that end of August deadline.  Still just a couple of rows a night, but they are adding up.

In reading news, The Egg and I has been retired for the moment in favor of some homeschooling reading.  The new school year is upon us and I don't really know what we are going to do with it.  Karen Andreola's words are giving me some comfort though.  And my copy of Amanda Soule's new book arrived last week.  The photographs are lovely as is the writing.

I've really been enjoying Amanda's book as well. Love the cowl! It looks so cozy and warm. It's cooling ever so slightly in the mornings here. :) I look forward to October and more autumnal weather.

The cowl looks so lovely and soft. My daughter's making a cowl - she joined in the yarn along today for the first time.(alittlesparc)

I understand full well the homeschooling 'rut'. I'm trying to muster up enough enthusiasm to begin again - really need a few more months of summer! :)

I simply have to take a look at that book. Everyone seems to think is so great, and I've loved her books in the past.

BTW, I added "The Egg and I" to my amazon list since I read about it here. I can't wait for it's turn to come up!

I almost bought the Charlotte Mason book a couple days ago..starting our 4th homeschooling year and I still don't know much about homeschooling philosophies.
Love your squishy cowl.

Row by row...that's how I go too. Just wrote my review of Amanda's book and will post it tomorrow. Needless to say, I think it was lovely. Hope you're enjoying it!

It's going back and forth between cool and hot, cool and hot. Gah! Get on with it already!
Love that color. I so wish I had some extra knitting time ( you know, a wee break from knitting fairies and gnomes0 so I could work on some cold weather woolies.

P.S. i would love to know what you think of the Charlotte Mason book. My mom gave me perhaps the same book and I haven't had the chance to crack it yet. I need to , though, we're starting our first yr of homeschool next month!
