Yarn Along: 29 June

Summer is finally here in Northern New Jersey and I am {re}knitting a one hundred percent wool sweater out of Rowan Big Wool.  I have had the materials for this piece for over two years and I chose now to begin.  Hmmmm.  I wonder if there is something behind that...

Anyways, I finally gathered the courage to rip this disaster and to cast on the Hurry Up Last Minute Sweater by Elizabeth Zimmerman.  The ripping process is a mighty one--making the whole thing even more painful.  After going through it, I am vowing never again to knit a seamed sweater--seams are even more tedious to rip out than they are to put in.

And as for the reading, there has been so much and none at all.  By this I mean that I am reading little paragraphs here and there from so many (too many) books that are grabbing my attention (never mind those awaiting pick up from the library)  but gathering really nothing from those bits and pieces.  It's time for focus, Sachi.  Come on.

At least the kids are focused.  Seashore reading for the beach goers.

I love your sink! I am also knitting a wool sweater in the heat. I was not in Columbus for long but I can see how it could be hard to fit in - it is a great area but not the friendliest to newcomers. Does your friend knit (or sew)? There are some great shops with classes and hang out times. I made some friends through breastfeeding & kid stuff but most of them were not from Ohio either!

I struggle with focus, too--I think it's part of being a mama. Those square foot books are great--I only have 2, but hope to expand my collection eventually.

Another sweater! I'm impressed and intimidated. Sounds like you've gotten over the EZ fear!
Oh focus, what is that again? I don't even seem capable of completing a full sentence these days.

I'm unfocused when it comes to non-fiction books. I usually find myself reading small portions of more then one at a time. Looks like you have a let's read science book there. The kids really enjoy them here too. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and leaving an uplifting comment. :)

Focus, Sachi, focus!:) J/K I have those weeks, too.
I was going to let you know I know Kerry from when we worked at an elementary school together. She heard folk music floating out my social work office and we became quick friends!
Tell the beach hi.

I think that you might need a vacation. Having a hard time focusing, knitting bulky wool in mid-summer... ;)

Blessings, Debbie

I agree 100% on knitting seamless sweaters....they are a blessing aren't they?
