Homemade Granola!
This is a totally revolutionary concept to me! I am sure that many of you have been making your granola all along. Not me. In fact, it never even really occurred to me that you could. I don't know why. In fact, a friend once asked me if I made my own and I remember thinking to myself that it seemed like an insurmountable task. Each week I would trek back to Whole Foods and spend 5, sometimes 6, dollars and waste another plastic container on toasted oats?!
I got the recipe out of the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living. There is a dash of nutmeg in the ingredients which my kiddos are not to fond of but it is yummy to me. Next time I may add cinnamon instead.

I'm thinking about trying that recipe too. I bought a tiny bit of granola tonight at Whole Foods and I was amazed at the price.
I never thought I could make mine either ;o) until a lovely lady told me so at Whole Foods. Now I love to mix my own
I really enjoy home made granola. Choosing the ingredients, and putting it all together feels so much better than buying it premade, from a bulk bin. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us
Looks great! I love homemade granola, especially because you can pick and choose what to put in it and not have to worry about artificial anything. I find it's a great way to add local honey into my diet too!
Homemade granola is so yummy. I haven't made my own, but was given some as a gift last year. I just love it on top of yogurt with blueberries. Yum!
I agree with Whirliegig... it's so much fun to add all your own favorite ingredients and experiment, especially once you get the hang of the general liquid to dry ingredient proportions. The possibilities are endless!
Now that you've got the granola down, you have to make your own yogurt too! Homemade yogurt and granola is one of my very favorite things to eat! Thanks for pointing out this recipe. I'll have to give it a try.
