Nature Study Monday: The Common Grackle

Oh you Grackle, you!  I am just not one of your fans...  This very large bird scares all of my little bird-feeding friends away from our feeders.  And instead of taking a bite and leaving, he remains there for a long while.

Evidently I am not the only one who is not a fan...  The Grackle is an enemy at large of corn crops.  They gather in large numbers and destroy crops on a regular basis.

Somehow this does not surprise surprise me.  A menace, I say...

He is quite sinister looking that one! Makes me think of Little House and how they shot all the blackbirds in the cornfield and made them into pie. Your bird shots are always so fabulous!

Ah! This guy looks scary! Glad we haven't seen him. I've been thinking about you as we gaze out at our bird friends trying to figure out who they are...Glad to see you back!

Oh, what a look that grackle is giving. I can almost hear his evil cackle. Grackles are not a favorite of mine either.
