Yarn Along: 27 July

Joining Ginny again this week for another Yarn Along...

Slow and steady goes the knitting and the reading this week.  At the end of the day, I am left with very little time for each and every last second of it is wonderful.  The cowl knits up so simply and takes very little concentration, which is exactly what I like (too much detail interferes with the close attention I must pay to all of those Project Runway episodes).  When the weather cools, I plan to get back to the sweater at hand but for now, this is just fine.

This Life is in Your Hands is due back to the library soon so my pace has got to pick up a bit. I love the book and would read it until it was done if it weren't for all of the life that has to happen in between those chapters.  I appreciate the different perspective it offers on homesteading, and in particular, on the Nearings--what information they chose to share and, perhaps more importantly, not to share.  By next week, this one should be off the nightstand...

Love the colorway for that cowl. A nice basic earthtone for fall and winter is lovely. :)

Looks like a read I would enjoy... Keep plugging away at the knitting. That's about the pace I've been keeping for awhile. :)

the cowl will be lovely. I know what you mean about no time to read or knit. I am going going going these days but can't seem to figure out what I did!

The cowl looks so soft and squishy, I really am drawn to brown hues!

Beautiful, brown colour. The yarn looks so soft!

I really love the brown, too. I am so tired at the end of the day I can barely stay awake, but I did have my first knitting group here last week.

Brilliant! A dummy garter...thanks for the tip re: my precious knitted one! Oh I must get my hands on that book. I've been an Eliot Coleman fan for a long time, and the Nearings' even longer. Adding it to my TBR pile on goodreads now!

I love the cowl. I really must get round to knitting myself one for the winter.
I think I would really enjoy that homesteading book... it's been a dream for me and I'd love to know the ins and outs of what homesteading life is really like!
I too really treasure my end of day reading and knitting time. Short and sweet though it is :)

I love the colour of the cowl - it looks perfect for autumn. My only problem with the Yarn Along is that I often feel like I don't get enough done to report.
