Do you take Yarn Along pictures of the same project for weeks on end just like me? I really hope others are knitting as slow as I am. This truly is the Summer 2011 Cowl because it is nearly the one and only thing I have knit through the summer. Here's hoping that it will be done by summer's end.
My reading has varied a bit though. I finished Rhythm of Family by Amanda and Stephen Soule this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Like others have said, there was not a lot that was new to me in the book, but the photography was beautiful and I appreciated the reminders I took from each of the authors.
Now I am working my way through the bundles of peaches that we picked last week, trying to find just the right way to preserve them for the year. Any ideas?

I know what you mean! I posted for at least 6 weeks straight on my cardigan (still not finished) until I decided we needed a little break in our relationship. So I'm doing little projects until I get my sanity back. I love the bowl in your photo!
i too love the bowl! peach icecream is always a hit. also peach preserves for winter cobblers are nice . peach dacquiries are dazzling.
regarding the book.. is rhythm something you'll keep on the bookshelf, or more a read and trade it item?
Beautiful peaches! I did a peach post yesterday because it seems like that's all we've done around here the last few days. :) I hope the cowl is finished soon!
Yes, I do! But those peaches make it all look new (and tasty). ;-)
Oh, Oh, pickled peaches..peach leather, peach jam, peach pie, grilled peaches! All so good! xx
I think I have posted the same project three or four times now... Need to style up my pictures abit like you do :)
The peaches looks yummy!
No thoughts on the peaches. I'm going to can tomatoes for the first time this week. Any thoughts on that?
I'm a slow knitter, too! But that pic is great!
LOVE your fruit bowl.
Happy knitting. And eating. :)
I think that's fine to do. I'm sure you'll be seeing lots of my latest project since it'll end up with hundreds of stitches in one round. Love that beautiful bowl and peaches!
I love your peach bowl! Oh, wait a minute...focus - knitting & reading. Well, I have one of those endless projects right now - my baby surprise jacket. But, have some quickies on the needles to make up for it - dish towels. Good luck finding the perfect peach solution!
I am now wanting a peach....can't wait to see the cowl after it is finished.

i love everything about this photo. your kitchen looks lovely and the bowl is awesome. i wish i had a full bowl of peaches right now! our farmers market didn't have such great ones this year.
your cowl looks beautiful too, the color is really nice.it looks like a light weight? those take time :)
This is the first time in a LONG time that my projects are flying off the needles. Usually it is the same ol' thing! Yum peaches! I would make jam, chutney and maybe some syrup.
Yes! I've been on the same projects forever, it seems. You are not alone! I have to get creative every week with how I photograph them. :) I love, love, love the bowl your peaches are in.
Pretty colorful bowl! I can't preserve a peach because I am too busy eating them. I think I have a serious addiction. We had peach crisp this past weekend. Yum!!!
I just love your photo for today! The colors are amazing! I think you just made my new favorite colors be peach orange and green! :)
My knitting has been on the painfully slow side this summer too. I have completed all of one and a half projects.... and they are from the same pattern no less! I look forward to seeing your cowl when it is finished. Slow and steady wins the race, right? ;)
thank you for sharing there probably wasn't a lot of new stuff for you in 'the book', lol, that will allow me to check it out from the library instead as it is probably true for me as well. there are SO many books i want...so little time...don't feel bad about the knitting, summer is like that!
:)

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Sometimes I think, "I don't want to knit. It's not knitting weather." Thankfully, we have air conditioning, otherwise I'd be a lot worse.
That Bowl! Those Peaches! I die.
Peaches! I dealt with 50 pounds yesterday. Peach pie filling, unsweetened peaches to puree for baby food, peach marmalade and peach pit jelly. Have you tried peach pit jelly? It turned out really yummy even though it seemed a bit woody while it cooked.
Thanks for visiting. When did you plant your spinach for fall planting...I would like to squeeze in a few last minute things for the fall and hope it is not too late.
Your photo and colander are lovely :) I'm knitting quite slowly, too, this summer....still learning and sometimes get stuck or frustrated! Having a great time, though!
That is the most wonderful bowl I've ever seen! Wow!! Is it O.K. that I only want to talk about the bowl? :)
Blessings, Debbie
that IS a beautiful bowl!
just found your blog via soulemama & i DO have an idea for your extra fruit! we just made fruit leather (aka fruit rollups) from our left over peaches. it really was much easier than i thought & really, really yummy. i'm going to blog a little about it & give links tomorrow if you're interested :)
